Since seven, I found myself exploring the visual world in a way that is close to my heart. It seemed I could not stop making objects, inventing things, drawing and painting.
I am prolific and began to create a name for myself painting and drawing by 1975 in the Portland Oregon area. During this period I thought it would be a great idea to start an art school and share
what I have learned over the years. After 10 years the student rate increased to over 300 students a week. In the 80's I started a gallery called the L&B Gallery and began to invite artists from all
over the country to have shows. In 2000, I went to Italy, attended the Florence Biennial, and received a medal in painting. I have showed my work in-group
shows and biennials at the Portland Art Museum, Schneider Art Museum and The Tacoma Art Museum. I have sold artwork in galleries located across Oregon and the east coast New York and Florida.
After 35 years of teaching and thousands of students, I am still teaching students how to draw and paint. Today I still make art and explore the infinite possibilities of teaching. I realized private
and online art lessons where the best way to learn. This is not possible in group situations as they gain more one on one time with a professional artist. One thing I have found in all my
experiences, without creativity, there is nothing worth pursuing. |
